I live in California, but it does seem odd the police should withhold such information from the public. I can think of a number of good reasons for informing the people who ask what is going on. And, I can think of some very bad results of keeping them ignorant.

BTW, I love the beginning of that video, the exchange with the police that are hiding. It's like a comedy skit; hilarious. Good stuff.

Just a thought, just because there aren't requirements doesn't mean it wouldn't be a good idea. I think if I had a chance, I would harp more on the "familiarization" aspect of it. People tend to be more comfortable with things that they understand. For the record, I also think high schools should have gun courses available, especially in a state like NH that has such loose gun regulation (though I don't think high school students should be allowed to carry)- just to create a more "gun-friendly" environment to build upon. Plus I think it would add to the probability of change actually happening. Organisations rarely do a 180 on their policies so by meeting them halfway on something, it allows you to then go after the whole thing later ("war of attrition" if you will.)
As for the law allowing the school to make the call, it's a grey area. It becomes a battle of semantics when I say that the law doesn't say they are allowed to make their own rules, they just don't mention it, but I understand your point that it should be added to the law in general. I personally think colleges should allow firearms, but I don't think EVERY state funded place should have the same policy. I wouldn't want courtrooms or abortion clinics, for example, to allow them because those are places where people tend to become volatile and make rash decisions.

Forgot to mention, the youtube video I posted actually shows mostly Santorum supporters pitching a fit over stuff the Ron Paul supporters were adding to the party platform. The in fighting became so pathetic you couldn't even get Mitt and Rick supporters to get behind anything sensible. For example, I was unable to add to the party platform language the stated "government should not take private property for private use" simply because I was identified as a Ron Paul supporter. The party regulars were fixitated on how one should use their penis and what to do with human beings they don't like instead of something that had importance like abuses in government.

So in Missouri how they dealt with this was if your considered a infiltrator you were had to wear a special badge at all district/state level republican meetings so that other members could identify you and not talk to you. In Jackson County, Libertarians and Ron Paul supporters completely overthrew the party regulars. In retaliation, the Republicans went to the Secretary of State and had the new Jackson county party leadership removed from the party. Then the state party just reinstated all of the good old boys that had been chased out. Missouri Libertarians and Ron Paul/Rand Supports are causing so much trouble for republicans they want to end the county caucuses all together. I believe Catherine Bleish was at the Jackson County rumble, she could give more info on this. I was at the Clay County scream match were Ron Paul supporters were fighting heavily with Mitt Dumby Rick Buttsexsantorium supporters it was insane. At one point there may have been at least 50 cops in the room as people were on the verge of fighting with fist. We might have a recording of this event buried in the computer archives. I'll have to dig through my records and send it to you guys anonymously. St. Charles MO was just as bad there is lots of vids of that out there. You taunt me. You think my view is inaccurate. Fair enough, but by concealing your reasons you deprive me of the opportunity to evaluate your reasons and perhaps decide to change my view.

You don't believe the author is racist, but you fail to explain why. I can explain why I say he is:

FACT: the author refers to the specific race of the suspect.
FACT: the author fails to express any objection to the suspect's behavior.
FACT: the author expresses hatred toward the suspect by calling him "scumbag" and "loser."

If you accept these facts as true, which are proven by the author's own words, then I will be most fascinated to learn how you can deny the author's racism. To me, the act of focusing on a person's race, while directing hate-speech at that person absent any complaint regarding that person's behavior seems to be a textbook example of racism.

Nice argument, but fails to consider all that I mentioned. I believe I said self evident or extrapolated. A thought crime alone might be grounds for me or others to chose not to associate with somebody. I extrapolated that the writer doesn't approve of the person in question, not because he has evidence of an actual crime, instead because he holds a different view point, which the author and many people disapprove of. His calling him a scumbag may have been harsh, but not entirely inaccurate as a portrayal of his disapproval of a persons view point.

I don't believe the author is a racist, and I think you have conflated his point of view. However I support your right to hold that point of view, even if I think it is inaccurate.
